AFTERWORLD, Sydney Festival Sydney Australia The timeless Greek myth takes on new life in AFTERWORLD. This world premiere work brings together the visionary choreography of Sue Healey, the live percussion and electronic music of innovative composer Laurence Pike, and five incredible dancers, set against the ethereal film presence of 109-year-old Eileen Kramer as Eurydice. AFTERWORLD celebrates the miraculous power of art to defy the limits of existence. Orpheus, through his music, charms the Gods and ventures into the Underworld to bring his beloved Eurydice back to the world of the living. Dancers Nadiyah Akbar, Josh Freedman, Benjamin Hancock, Taiga Kita-Leong, Siobhan Lynch and Kramer explore these themes of mortality and the profound revelation of being in close proximity to death.
